State of Mind

The holidays arouse all types of emotions and feelings in people…happy, sad, grateful, resentful. It is easy to find ourselves with holiday cheer one minute and then holiday blues the next!

“For who has ever intimately known the mind of the Lord Yahweh well enough to become his counselor? Christ has, and we possess Christ’s perceptions.”

1 Corinthians 2:16 TPT

I am not always as astute of a custodian over my mind as I should be. Sometimes, I entertain negative thoughts and let my mind run wild to places that Jesus has already conquered. And when I finally arrest those thoughts, I am left feeling guilty for once again, tangoing with what I see to be true and not what I know.

I love how God gives us the benefit of the doubt when we do not deserve it. Even when we begin to doubt ourselves, He is still rooting for us. How amazing is it that we have the mind of Christ, a mind that knows God intimately and is sensitive to His thoughts?

We are always in the commander seats of our minds, and even when things spiral out of control, we still retain the power (and grace) to reel things back in. It is not where your mind goes that matters, but where your mind stays.
