Anyone that claims they don’t have a secret battle is lying, in which figuring out why they stretch the truth is a battle within itself.
Throughout this week, I was surprised to learn what some people around me are struggling and dealing with. The neighbor with the biggest smile, may have the biggest broken heart. The peer/colleague with the most jokes, may have the most unfortunate circumstances. People, I am learning, are never as they seem.
Since I brought the topic up, I will put myself out there…I struggle with worry and self-esteem issues. When I wrote my goodbye letter, a lot of my family and acquaintances were pretty shocked. 1 Peter 5:9, is one of my favorite Bible verses, as it reminds me that I am not alone in the fight of faith or challenges.
Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. -1 Peter 5:9 (NIV)
Everyone has a secret battle that Jesus has already won victory over. However, in this life, we must keep the faith until we reach that point of victory in our lives. My prayer for Christians all over the world is that they will keep the faith, hold tight to God, never forget they are not alone, and remember that they are overcomers through Christ.
Your secret battle has already been won. No matter how it looks or how many times you stumble, in the end you will overcome it!
