Receiving Reprimands

Receiving Reprimands.jpg

“Refusing constructive criticism shows you have no interest in improving your life, or revelation-insight only comes as you accept correction and the wisdom that it brings.” Proverbs 15:32 TPT

You and I are imperfect people. Human beings who make mistakes daily and are consequently gifted new grace every day because of that.

I used to not answer questions because I despised being told that I was wrong. Graded assignments, especially essays were the worst, as the grader often slaughtered my writing and called it “hyperbolic”. I wasn’t always receptive to my mother telling me what I needed to hear in moments when it wasn’t what I wanted to hear. This was personal to me! These people were attacking my legitimacy as a handworker and striver of excellence.

Yet, you can work smart, only entertain thoughts of miracles and still make a boo-boo (or two)! And when you do, you can use those blunders as tools to sharpen the weak areas in your life.

Ironically, I remember the things I missed more than those that I knew. Although everyone is entitled to their opinion, I don’t have to heed to it. Thankfully, mothers are angels from Heaven and they always want what is best.

We all want to grow in our lives and be able to say that in every day, week, month and year we saw a positive change within ourselves. Before seeds can be planted to grow, the stubborn soil must be tilled up and our life tillers are reprimands.

Until Thursday,
