Passes Over

Hope you had a wonderful Easter and April thus far!

This past February, I fasted secular music, sweets and sugary drinks. I just felt that I needed to take some time to prioritize God and sharpen my Spirit. During my fast, I started taking Communion every weekday, to set the tone for my day and remind myself why I fasting. Since February, I have continued taking Communion and every morning i am reminded of the Israelites.

“Moses assembled all the elders of Israel. He said, “Select a lamb for your families and slaughter the Passover lamb. Take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the bowl of blood and smear it on the lintel and on the two doorposts. No one is to leave the house until morning. God will pass through to strike Egypt down. When he sees the blood on the lintel and the two doorposts, God will pass over the doorway; he won’t let the destroyer enter your house to strike you down with ruin.”

EXODUS 12:22-27 MSG

In Old Testament, by putting the blood of the lamb over the doorpost, the Israelite families were saved from the death angel. In New Testament, by sacrificing his life, as the lamb of Christ, Jesus saved all of humanity from eternal damnation. In present day, by taking Communion, we are saved from the attacks of Satan. When we walk with Jesus, death, coronavirus, lack, sadness, poverty, dejection, rejection and all other negative things passes over our lives.
