Happy Sunday, I hope your week has been great. Christmas time is almost here! Last Thursday, I mentioned the importance of writing down thoughts that come from the Holy Spirit, and today we are going to expand on that thought.
The first line in the Bible, which is Genesis 1:1 reads, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”? Before reading any more of the Bible, we automatically know that the heavens and the earth will be involved in some form or fashion. Therefore meaning that throughout our biblical readings, we will always be asking ourselves, “How does this relate the heavens and the earth?”. I believe Genesis 1:1 serves to remind us that everything that is, was created by Him, and thus there is nothing He cannot do.
Have you ever received a gift such as a book, gift card etc. that was pretty irrelevant to your current needs, but you held on to it anyway? Chances are that there came a time, when that book or gift card was pertinent to your current needs, but wasn’t before.
Messages from the Holy Spirit are just like that. Sometimes we may not need to know what Psalm 147:3 says, or that God loves us, because there is no sadness or broken-heartedness. We may not need to know what 1 Peter 2:24 says, or that Jesus is a healer because there is no sickness in our families. But the Holy Spirit often sends us messages before we need them, so that we can be ready when the enemy attacks.
Over the last few months, I have noticed that messages from Heaven come for four reasons:
- I need it NOW
- Message of peace for a current situation
- I need it LATER
- Message of peace for a future situation
- Someone else needs it NOW
- Message of peace for someone in their current situation
- Someone else needs it LATER
- Message of peace for someone in their future situation
We take notes in classes, meetings and informational sessions for later reference. So, why not take them when the Holy Spirit speaks and gives a message that we will eventually need…whether sooner or later?
