Okay, so I admit, “Making Everyday Thanksgiving” is a bit cliché, but so is Cast my Cares, and Trust in the Lord. We hear them all the time.
According to Merriam-Webster, a cliché is defined as “… something that is so commonly used in books, stories, etc., that it is no longer effective”.
In life, our family, the Bible, and our blessings become clichés, as they are always around us. I see my family everyday. Read my bible everyday. I wake up everyday. But, just because I have these blessings everyday doesn’t mean I should take them for granted. There are people who have lost loved ones, and some who are persecuted for being a Christian. Not everyone who closes their eyes at night will wake the next morning.
I am challenging you and myself, to be thankful for all the blessings we have in our lives, on a daily basis…not just Thanksgiving. As Christians, we cannot allow our ears to become deaf to God’s promises, as a byproduct of hearing them all time. Cast my cares, heard 1 million times has the same meaning, as Cast my cares, heard 1 time.
Just like book lovers despise clichés, we as Christians must despise ungrateful attitudes, and desensitization in our daily lives.
This year I am thankful for so much God, my Family and most of all a new blessing in my life…YOU! Enjoy all the special Thanksgiving dishes, and Christmas carols…
