Loose ends and unfinished business…two things I detest with a vengeance! Not having a conclusion to a situation, book, movie, relationship etc., is stressful to me. Without a definitive end, the possibilities are endless.
The bible says that what Job feared the most came upon, well I believe there should be an addition to that verse. What we fear and/or hate the most will come upon us. I have had so many loose ends lately! Although, I am grateful to be alive and breathing, life hasn’t been the tied-up bow that I would like it to be. Whether it is trying to interpret mixed signals from my peers or having to frog (undo the stitching of) my crochet project, there has been many moving parts in my life.
Jesus’ death on the cross and ascension into Heaven, was essentially a conglomeration of loose ends, as He freed us from Satan’s knots and gifted us the sovereignty to make our own choices. After shedding blood, sweat, tears and all other bodily fluids, Jesus was still faced with the possibility that the very people He died to save, could reject Him. If The Son of Man wasn’t given any guarantees, then how can we expect them?
Life has been loosening the threads of my inner-being, giving me room to let things flow out, so that The Holy Spirit can flow in. Undoing parts of ourselves that have been woven tighyly together is uncomfortable and filled with no guarantees about how things will look or feel, while we are in transition. Yet, we have a promise that God is making something splendid within us.
“So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.” -Romans 8:28 TPT
Don’t worry if your life has some loose threads right now, because God is in the process of reweaving.
