Although, I am typically an attentive student, my good intentions don’t always stop my attention span from ebbing throughout an hour lecture. This past Tuesday was one of those days, until the word, linchpin, left my professor’s mouth, reverberated in my ears and finally reached my mind…
Dictionary.com defines linchpin as “something that holds the various elements of a complicated structure together.” After I had a clear understanding of what linchpin meant, I begin to ask myself, “Who are the people that serve as linchpins in my life?” and “What are the objects that too, serve as linchpins in my life?”. Life is the most complicated and ungraspable concept known to human kind, second only to Jesus’ Love, which we could never attempt to rationalize.
Contemplating my answers to those questions, I noticed a common thread throughout the linchpin fabric of my life. The Holy Trinity, my family and AD’s family of readers (people like you), all stem from a place of love. When God handcrafted us, He gifted us with the capacity to love and function appropriately. How could we love someone that we didn’t have the ability or desire to? We couldn’t!
“One day the Eternal God scooped dirt out of the ground, sculpted it into the shape we call human, breathed the breath that gives life into the nostrils of the human, and the human became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7 VOICE
There’s a love a surging through your veins that serves as the cornerstone of your life, both spiritually and physically. You neither have to understand the innerworkings of this love or do exceptional acts to reap the benefits of this love. For your one and only requirement of eligibility, is to believe.
How amazing is it that God did the following things:
- Gave us the capacity to love Him and others
- Gave us the desire of love from Him and others
- Expects nothing more or less than our belief
Talk about romantic!
Until Sunday,
P.S. For those interested about the progress of my beloved right thumb…it looks like the sutures will be coming off next Monday!
