How many times have you said that very statement and still brought the shirt, car, book etc.?! Probably a month ago during Christmas shopping for sure!
Similar to material items, change is just as expensive! If you want to see new results in your life, it is going to cost you something. Whether it’s a goal to be healthier, which requires you to eat cleaner or reading more books, which demands better time management, you will be forced to venture into the uncomfortable and exert more effort than you are used to. However, the true question is not if you are able to, but if you are willing to pay the hefty price for change?
“For the lovers of God may suffer adversity and stumble seven times, but they will continue to rise over and over again. But the unrighteous are brought down by just one calamity and will never be able to rise again.” Proverbs 24:16 TPT
And even despite making the choice to accomplish your goals, you may still get tripped up along the way and that too, is okay! Yet, with God you always have new mercy, grace and another chance to get it right. Within the pursuance of our goals in life, there is still an element of “chronic novicity“! We don’t have all the answers and we are prone to mistakes, which is where Jesus comes in as a bridge that gifts us revelations when we don’t know which way to turn and as a bumper rail to save us from when we make the wrong turn 🙂
