Happy Sunday! I cannot believe January is almost over…it moves way too fast!
Last year, I was walking to my Biology class, when I saw raindrops resting on air. I knew the frigid weather was messing with my eyes and comprehension of reality, because thanks to gravity, everything falls down. However, as I got closer, I realized that the raindrops were not “resting on air” like I had thought, but were actually suspended in the air by spider webs.
Nature seems to run perpendicular to our lives, in which our faith is like spider webs. We can’t physically see or touch our faith, but spiritually we can feel the peace, grace and strength that comes from resting in it. Some people probably think Christians are crazy for believing in someone (God) and something (Faith) that they cannot see, just like I thought rain drops in mid air without any assistance was definitely an optical illusion. God works in a way that at times, surpasses any level of human comprehension. As Christians, God calls us to walk by the invisible and what doesn’t make sense. He commands us to praise, even when our circumstances scream otherwise.
In the middle of intense rain, those little raindrops were still and at peace with their lair on a spider web. That is exactly how we should be, whether rain or shine. Our hearts should be still, listening to God’s voice and at peace, fixing our eyes on Jesus.
Our temporary home is restless, but we don’t have to be. This world we live in, is anxious, but we don’t have to be. The devil is busy, but we don’t have to be afraid. God is with us, and He only asks us to do one thing: weave ourselves a spider web of faith and rest in it.
God is doing great things in the body of Christ…hold on and stay strong…the good fight isn’t over yet!
