“My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism, even when there is something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.” 1 John 3:18-20 MSG
I stumbled upon these bible verses this week and wanted to share them with you! Love is such a powerful force, it is because of love that your previous breath wasn’t your last. Love is who died on the Cross for the sins of others. Love is what holds the very fibers of our lives together.
I’m taking Speech Fundamentals this semester and I had my second speech this past Tuesday. Not only was I nervous at the notion of standing in front of my peers, but I was also feeling stressed because I trembled during the entirety of my first speech. Needless to say, I had bounds to be worried, it’s a grade after all! Make a long story short, I opened my bible app and 1 John 3:18-20 popped up. I can’t describe how quickly and effectively my antsiness was assuaged after reading that scripture!
Spewing all the contents of my week all to say this, you may be unqualified for that job position, flawed for God’s plan, and undeserving of mercy, but it doesn’t matter! His love for us pierces through any and all mistakes we’ve ever made and will ever make. Don’t let compulsive liars whether they be Satan, negative inner voices or other people talk you out of God’s unstoppable and “in spite of” love. Even in sin and darkness, He pursued you, sending His only beloved son in your place!
