The world says, “slow and steady wins the race” but God says, “truth and honesty conquers the race”!
proverbs 2:20-21 msg
“So—join the company of good men and women, keep your feet on the tried-and-true paths. It’s the men who walk straight who will settle this land, the women with integrity who will last here. The corrupt will lose their lives; the dishonest will be gone for good.”
“Integrity is the best indicator of character. If they are honest with you, then they can be trusted.” My mom has always encouraged my siblings and I to tell the truth, even if those truths were ‘inconvenient’ to us.
I am confident that Jesus walked in integrity during his time on earth. Not only was he honest in all his ways, but he was also willing to accept and forgive the honest confessions/thoughts of others. And that is next question pertaining to honesty: are we able to handle the truth?
The verse above talks about men and women—plurality and diversity, and how those men and women walked in integrity. To walk with God is to speak to Him daily and also receive from him. We can only walk in integrity, when we are willing to be honest and reckon with honesty from others.
