“But Caleb reassured the people as they stood before Moses. “Let us go up at once and possess it,” he said, “for we are well able to conquer it!”

So Moses sent twelve spies into the Promised Land of Canaan, also known as the Land of Milk and Honey. Ten of the spies came back with a negative report saying that the inhabitants were too overpowering, leading the Israelites to doubt that God had truly promised Canaan to them.

However Caleb and Joshua came back with an positive report, with Caleb proclaiming that that were “…well able to conquer it!”. How could twelve spies all visit the same place and have ten come back with a pessimistic report and then two with an optimistic report?

Personal perception. It’s true now and it was true then. Obstacles are always only as big as you perceive them to be! To the ten, the inhabitants of Canaan were too intimidating for them to apply their faith, but to the other two, the inhabitants were an opportunity to let God empower them!

In regard to your circumstance, are you going to be of the ten, unable or of the two, able?
