Faith: Hoping & Longing
You may not have an answer from God yet, but He never leaves you without a song of joy to sing!
matthew 6:26-27 tpt
“Look at all the birds—do you think they worry about their existence? They don’t plant or reap or store up food, yet your heavenly Father provides them each with food. Aren’t you much more valuable to your Father than they? So, which one of you by worrying could add anything to your life?”
“Birds sing not because they have answers but because they have songs.” ~African Proverb.
Without fail, the birds sing many songs to God, every morning. They have no idea where their next meal is coming from, what weather or destructive human interaction they may encounter, yet they still sing. Joining them is all of God’s Creation from butterflies to beagles, worshiping Him in their own way.
When I think of the areas of my life where answers constantly elude me, I ponder why. Could it be that the burden of answers is heavy yet the freedom to sing is light? If I knew the why for many of the things in life, would I be able to mentally handle that information? Being truthful, I must admit that comprehending why requires a supernatural and supreme sense, that only God with His Higher Thoughts and Higher Plans possess.
There is a peace to be found in not knowing, a relinquishment from responsibility that allows one to fully surrender. Living without answers is a daily choice to exalt God and His Ways over what we think we need, want or think.
