Faith: Hoping & Longing Week 1- Introduction

Faith: Hoping & Longing

God’s Appointed Timing is like a destination, but how do you get there? By faith…

Lately, I’ve been thinking about faith, and what faith means. In many contexts, faith is like the word, love, it is thrown around a lot and means different things depending on the person. Faith could be used by a Christian or a non-Christian to describe their beliefs. Love could be referring to a things or people.

As I reflect on faith, I see two a combination of two components: hoping and longing.

To hope is to expect, and to long is to desire. Don’t we partake in both when we have faith?

It is impossible to hope for something and not long for it too and vice versa. Often times, longing is considered an unhealthy thing because it can be associated with lust and the creation of false idols, and for some that may be true. This person is hoping to one day fulfill their dreams and they are longing for this adventure because their adrenaline is not satisfied with the routine, everyday life. And the same hoping and longing applies to our eventual return to Heaven!

What are some things that you are hoping and longing (using faith to bring into manifestation)? To God, there is nothing too big in nature or too trivial in meaning!

Longing: [Fill in the blank] is important to me because…
