cleansing week 3: spirit of wisdom

Wisdom is not only for making great-choices, it is also for thinking outside the box, for thinking God-Thoughts!

Spirit of Wisdom

Bezalel and Oholiab. Do those two names sound familiar?

After the Moses guided the Israelites from Egypt, God commanded Moses to build a tabernacle to receive His Presence and gives Moses explicit instructions (Exodus 25). Depending on the translation, this tabernacle could be referred to as a “sanctuary” or “tent of meeting”. In essence, this tabernacle was like a “mobile house of worship” that allowed the Israelites to worship God during their travels (CompellingTruth.com). Sounds similar to online church, where God is truly accessible from any place, at any time!

God appointed Bezalel to be the architect of the tabernacle and Oholiab to assist him. In Exodus 31:1-6, God tells Moses that He has bestowed wisdom, creativity, skill and expertise on Bezalel and Oholiab, so that they could execute His Vision for this tabernacle. By all accounts Bezalel and Oholiab worked well together and even had help from other people (Exodus 26:1-2). The duo finished the tabernacle and are said to have done so in complete compliance with all of God’s Instructions (Exodus 39:42-43).

If you’re interested, you can read/skim Exodus 25 through Exodus 39 for more details about the tabernacle. In short, this tabernacle on wheels was immaculate! Can you imagine the wisdom that God had to impart on Bezalel and Oholiab for them to fathom a mobile sanctuary and then to execute intricate designs? I’m sure no ordinary and carnal mind could have thought of that!

God is a generous giver, always pouring wisdom over those who seek it. Every time that God creates an individual, He has a plan for their life and He sets aside all the provision that the person will need to be successful. You are no exception and although you may not be called to build a modern mobile tabernacle, you have been chosen to do something else…equally amazing & unprecedented! 🙂
