It’s official, we are three days into new year…
And 2019 has already taught me something new!
“And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns.” -Philippians 1:6 TPT
In Philippians 1, Paul is talking to the Philippians about his prayers for and God’s work in them. Though we have technology, cars and fast food, things that the Philippians didn’t have during their time, we are still just as much in need of God’s Grace as they were centuries ago.
There is always going to be something that we have to learn or an unfamiliar place that Jesus beckons us to and that is what makes this life full of what I am coining, “chronic novicity”. We’ll never be experienced in all areas of life or ever reach a state of absolute achievement while we continue to inhabit this earth.
It’s not the easiest truth for me to accept but at least I know that the path of taking life, the growth and the lessons as they come, has already been walked before!
I suppose the gift of learning outweighs the inability to be an expert at everything…
